RI Surprises

Has Andrew Fifield lost his form from the Tas Open, or had Fred found form?  Andrew's early sac didn't pay off and a draw resulted.1/2/-1/2
Did Reg really beat Kevin?  Kevin struggled to find the a good square for his f8 bishop, Reg had a strong Knight on e4 and a kingside attack looming.  1-0
Paul in his first club tournament game held his own against David for a while, but was an exchange down with a Queen headbutting his ramparts. 0-1
Dylan plays dad and dad (Carey) misses his chance for a perpetual.  Son was left grinning allover. 1-0
I was surprised that Phil played the Benoni against me after our encounter in the club championships.  He found the improvement and b7 looked tempting a few times.  Nevertheless the e4 push resulted in an advantage from the opening. 1-0

Nigel had the upper hand in the opening against Vincent, before V's pieces started to work late in the game.  A lost pawn and then a mistake led to a loss.  0-1
Newcomer Owen plays his first game next week.
